Synopsis:

Alone in the world, Mattie Ross, 14, seeks justice for the death of his father, shot in cold blood for two gold pieces by the coward Tom Chaney.

The assassin fled to India. To find him and have him hanged, Mattie agrees Rooster Cogburn, a U.S. Marshal alcoholic.
